Heritage Safe Collection
Antique Safes
Where heritage meets security
In a world of mass‑produced steel boxes, a vintage strongbox offers something no modern safe can: character.
Our collection of antique safes combines engineering excellence with artistry. From ornate brass faceplates and vivid enamelled finishes to ingenious locking mechanisms, these restored treasures are both secure and visually stunning. Each antique safe has been lovingly reconditioned to meet modern standards while preserving the original craftsmanship.

Why Collectors & Businesses Choose Antique Safes
What Makes an Antique Safe Worth Owning
- checkOne‑of‑a‑kind craftsmanship: Each safe is a unique and customisable statement piece with decorative details and historical charm.
- checkSecurity and reliability: Our safes are repainted, repaired and tested to meet British Standards, ensuring they perform as well as new units.
- checkInvestment potential: Quality antiques can hold or increase their value over time, particularly rare models from leading manufacturers – though values are not guaranteed and depend on condition, provenance and market demand.
- checkSustainable choice: Reusing a vintage safe reduces demand for new steel and keeps heritage items out of scrap yards.
- checkConversation starter: Visitors will be captivated by the bold colours, brass face plates and intricate locking designs.
Unique pieces of history
Discover our antique safe collection
Unlike today’s minimalist security cabinets, antique safes were designed as functional artworks. Manufacturers such as Chubb, Tann and Milner competed not just on strength but on aesthetics. Intricate hinges, embossed crests and hand‑painted pinstripes turned each safe into a showpiece.
Every restored safe is truly a unique one‑of‑a‑kind piece, making it impossible to find two identical examples. Clients even commission bespoke designs – distressed finishes, brass detailing and family crests – to create a safe that reflects their personality.

How We Restore Antique Safes
Our Antique Safe Reconditioning Process
01
Structural Inspection
Each antique safe is thoroughly examined for structural integrity. We assess the body, door frame, hinges, and locking bolts to identify any wear, corrosion, or damage requiring attention before restoration begins.
02
Mechanical Overhaul
The locking mechanism; whether a Victorian lever lock, combination dial, or key-operated system, is fully stripped, cleaned, and reassembled. All moving parts are tested to ensure smooth, reliable operation before the safe leaves our workshop.
03
Surface Preparation
Decades of paint, rust, and surface damage are carefully removed. We hand-strip, wire-brush, and prime the body to create a clean base that will hold the final finish to a professional standard for years to come.
04
Finishing & Decoration
We apply high-quality enamel paint in a choice of classic or bespoke colours. Brass faceplates, decorative hinges, and pinstripe detailing are restored or re-gilded to bring each antique safe back to its original grandeur — or to a finish of your choosing.
05
Certification & Testing
Once restored, every safe is fully tested by our safe engineers to confirm reliable and secure operation. New locks are fitted as standard, and all mechanical components are verified before the safe is approved for sale. A restoration certificate is issued with each sale confirming the work carried out.
06
Bespoke Customisation
Want something truly unique? We offer bespoke commissions — distressed finishes, family crests, custom colour matching, and specialist interior fittings. Tell us your vision and we will create an antique safe that is entirely your own.
