Delivery Information

What does each Delivery Option mean?

Delivery - Doorstep Delivery, these are delivered by a range of couriers and dropped off at your door.

Drop Off Delivery - This is our standard kerbside drop off delivery service. Drop Off Delivery is on tail lift vehicle and it is the customers responsibility to move the unit from kerbside into their premises. These Items will usually require 2 or more people to move.

Delivery & Installation to a Ground Floor Location - Delivery and Installation to Ground Floor Location - UK Mainland - this can include but not exceed 0-2 Entrance steps. The goods will be brought into your building and positioned in place and the safe will be bolted into a concrete floor, joists of a wooden floor or suitable external wall (if rear fixing holes present) at GROUND FLOOR level only.

Delivery & Positioning to a Ground Floor Location - The goods will be brought into your building and positioned where required on the ground floor or any other floor as long as a suitable lift is available (if access is via stairs/steps there is an additional charge).

How much will the delivery cost?

Total Safes offers a standard delivery charge on all on our products to UK mainland addresses, to see the cost you will find these in the delivery tab on the product page.
We offer delivery to other non UK Mainland areas such as Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on selected items but sometimes these areas can incur an extra charge. Please ring us on 0161 819 6888 or use our Contact Us and we can personalise the quote to your location.
If you choose to have your item installed the cost will be shown at the checkout phase when you decide what delivery Installation option you would like.

Who will be delivering my order?

Items that are for Delivery /Drop off Delivery or Downgrade to Kerbside Drop off will be delivered by a 3rd Party Courier. We use various services including, DPD, Parcel Force and TNT. If you choose to have your safe Installed this will be done by our Parent Company’s In-House team of fully qualified Safe Engineers, in our own company vehicles.

How long will my delivery take?

This can vary depending on each item. Lead times are stated on individual product pages but this can be effected by your address and any optional items that you have chosen such as extra keys or upgraded locking options. We always give a 15 working day lead time on any items that are chosen for installation.

If there are any delays to your lead time you will be notified as soon as possible via phone or email.

What time is the cut off for Next Day Delivery?

Usually you would need to place your order before 12:30pm* for next working day delivery.
*Excluding Bank Holidays and Weekends

What if I am not in when you try to deliver?

If the item is for delivery only by 3rd party carrier, delivery is Monday to Friday, usually during normal business hours. If you are not available at the time of the delivery, the courier will leave a notification to let you know of the attempted delivery. Please follow the instructions on the card to rearrange delivery or to collect your item from our courier’s nearest depot.

If the order is for installation, we will notify you in writing of your installation date and our team is instructed to ring ahead when leaving their previous job to let you know they are on their way. If you are unable to be around for installation meet on the agreed date please contact us as soon as possible so that we can arrange a new delivery date. If there is nobody around when our team arrives, the installation will have to be aborted and there will be a charge to re-attend at a later date.

Will I be charged extra for steps or stairs?

If you have chosen Ground Floor Installation It is important that you confirm the installation location is on the ground floor and advise us if there are more than 2 steps along the delivery route (from the roadside.to the installation location) otherwise there will be extra charges. If you have been given a quote for upper or lower floor delivery via stairs this shall be detailed with the number of steps and route to be taken that is included in the price, changes to the location that requires more steps will incur extra charges. If you have chosen Delivery only this will be Doorstep/Kerbside Drop off only and will not be taken into the property.

If there is a lift that can be used (that can hold the weight of a safe plus an engineer) this is included in a Ground Floor Installation cost but we must be made aware what floor the Installation is on and that we are able to use a lift so we can instruct the team correctly. It is the customers responsibility to check the weight capacity of the lift. If we arrive and the lift is insufficient, an extra charges will be incurred.

If my order is customised/bespoke will this affect the lead time?

Any customised products such as extra keys, extra shelves, upgraded locking options or colour variants will all effect the lead time. This will be confirmed on any enquiries or via email after the order is placed.

What is an aborted delivery/installation?

Aborted deliveries can incur further charges to you but providing we have the correct information these can be avoided. Some examples of where we may need to abort delivery are:

  • Nobody available - When you are given your installation date you must ensure someone is available at the location to receive our team when they arrive. If nobody is available we will have to abort and rearrange for another date (this may incur in an extra charge).
  • If the information that was provided to us was incorrect and there would be several entrance steps or an internal staircase - It is important you tell us exactly how many entrance steps and internal stairs there are. If you tell us there are 0-2 steps but we find there are more than 2 steps when we arrive we may have to abort the installation or return at a later date (at an additional cost)
  • Doorways or corridors are too narrow for the goods - please check the product dimensions and the route to delivery when ordering.
  • Lift is not suitable - please check the safe you are ordering is not too big or heavy for the lift in your building.
  • Lift is out of service - Please check your lift is working (and for any scheduled maintenance visits) prior to safe delivery.

We are happy to advise prior to ordering so you can avoid unnecessary charges. Simply contact us online or telephone 0161 819 6888.
