A Guide to Key Cabinets- Why are they so important in the workplace?

Keys are an important tool in every business. They help to safeguard our assets to provide maximum protection to our business overall.

Keys are crucial. Crucial for protecting our homes and our businesses from the risks of unauthorised access, but they’re also crucial for protecting important valuables within these properties. So, it should be a priority that these keys we rely on so much to protect our valued goods, are protected themselves.

With more businesses being vacated due to COVID-19 and lockdown restrictions, there is more opportunity for thieves to strike. The solution?

Well, Key Cabinets and Key Safes are effective security solutions that take up little space but provide a secure storage location and peace of mind.

Not only can they be used in our homes, but they can be used in environments which require regular distribution of keys, including hotels or garages.

It is extremely important to keep keys safe and secure from any unwanted personnel. If thieves can get hold of your keys, your business and your business's assets will be at risk.

Not only do they provide protection from theft, but key safes will help keep your keys organised.  enabling businesses to easily distribute them when needed.

Still unsure what you need?  Here at Total Safes, we offer a wide range of key cabinets to suit all different environments. We have key cabinets and key safes that range in size, depth and can either be wall-mounted or free-standing.

All our key cabinets are supplied with key hooks and come with a key lock as standard. You can upgrade your lock to a mechanical or electronic lock upon request.

Please see the different types of Key Cabinets we provide below.

High-Security Key Cabinets

High-Security Key cabinets offer the highest level of protection for keys. Their thick and robust exterior helps the prevention of theft. These types of cabinets would suit police stations and government facilities.

Looking for something large and sturdy to store a vast number of keys? The Securikey Floor Standing Cabinets offer capacity for 960 keys or more. These key safes are free-standing and weigh over 104kg.

Standard System Cabinets

Standard System Cabinets are portable key cabinets or key cabinets that can be fixed to a wall. They offer key storage at a more affordable price. These key cabinets can be used in schools, office buildings, hospitals, universities, factories and police stations.

Key Vault Cabinets

Key Vault Cabinets offer twice the strength of the standard key systems when it comes to securing keys. They are usually bigger in size, heavier in weight and are installed directly to the wall.

Emergency Key Boxes

Emergency Key Boxes are specially designed for emergency access to keys. The key boxes are designed to hold a key close to a locked door in the case of an emergency.  In the case of a fire, the last thing you want to be doing is searching for the key to a locked door.

Our range of Emergency Key Boxes are of steel construction with either a 2mm break glass or a solid front.

Storing Padlocks

These particular Key Cabinets are designed to hold padlocks or bunches of keys. The cabinets have staggered hooks which allow extra space for padlocks to hang.

Here at Total Safes, we can offer installation for our key cabinets at an additional cost. Email us for more information at support@totalsafes.co.uk or give us a call on 0161 819 6888
